R's mom, Marlene, is an artist and when we visit Zimbabwe, where his parent's live, I love wandering into her studio. A space where chaos prevails, yet manages to create a strange calmness in the sense that it is her "happy space". Her studio always smells of paint, is always a mess and is always inspiring. Blotches of colour fill the walls, line drawings have been pinned up in her painting haste. Pictures that inspire her fill empty surfaces, paints squelched everywhere fuel her. It is simply wonderful and this time when I was visiting I couldn't resist to take a few pictures.
