This is an image of a flat i recently worked on in an old apartment building in Claremont, Cape Town. It was gutted and revamped, restoring the beatiful parquet that had been kept a secret under a horrible musty-green carpet, adding floor to ceiling mirrors, a new kitchen and re-vamping the bathroom ( see below)...
The Nguni is my own, and smells wonderful and the Boababs on the wall are a nod to Zimbabwe, by local artist, Bowen Boshier. Today i am waiting to hear whether another similar flat has been bought by the same client, who is needing it to be renovated... I am holding thumbs- sparkling up an old gem is magical for me.
Black and white tiles and mirror surrounds- a elaboration on the old-school parquet and apartment block
