It's no secret that I love my magazines. I feel at a complete loose end if I do not have a new one to pour over on a free evening or over a weekend and find endless inspiration in décor and fashion magazines. I have my favorites, and they are either delivered to me, or I buy them religiously. Last month, though, a friend of mine leant me her "Living Etc". I took it with me on a weekend away. It is a magazine that is not a part of my usual repertoire, and was pleasantly surprised by it's lovely content.
Along with great interiors and inspiration, I was particularly drawn to the article about the home of Alexandre Hojer ( the Cape Town fashion designer, see here) and Micky Hoyle in Cape Town ( this is a UK magazine).
The home has a strange indoor-outdoor feel, despite it's fairly dark palette. It is also a treasure trove of auction finds and treasures (a favorite past time of mine, and so something I really appreciate). I love the numerous indoor plants, the textures and the rich palette, and then that most of the interiors have been lovingly made by the couple.
I felt that I needed to record the pages for inspiration.
See and read more about this beautiful home here.
