These are some images I took on a visit to the Spice shop on the corner of Lower Main Rd in Woodstock, "Fargo", I went with a chef, who took me there to show me where to find the "ultimate" in ingredients for a delicious curry- I love curry. More then curry, though, I love the smell of walking into an authentic spice shop, it transports me, I think of Mauritius, the spice souks in Dubai and of exotic flavours that remind you of travelling and exploring. I love the colours- it makes me think of stains and paints- the spices all seem to be thick powders that can be stirred into gorgeous ochre colours of pastes and swirls! So the next time you are in Lwr Main, and you see Fargo, know its like an Aladdin's cave inside and have a look!

All images by me, besides image of hands, which I found here

I LOVE Fargo Spices :) I lived in Observatory for a time (I'm from the States) and I brought home several bags of the durban curry mix, mango pickle, and biriyani spice mix....I'm almost out of all of them :( Means I'll have to come back soon! Great post. Thanks for the lovely pictures, brings back great memories of trips to the Old Biscuit Mill and Fargo's on the way!
