I honestly pour over the decor magazines that come out every month, South African, British, whatever, they fill be evenings. I thumb through them with a cup of tea and have great pleasure on "post-it-ing" what I like, what I want and what I want to do myself!
Better than finding inspiration, though, is finding write-ups about people you know. Last night i was reading the June/July issue of the SA ELLE Decoration, and on pg 15 and 19 ( see scan above, the timber carved 'trophy" and wooden-jug) I found the name of a guy that has helped me before, Mr Right Mukore, is a wonderful woodworker and person.
He made the tables i wanted from an old piece of yellow-wood I rescued with enthusiasm and kindness. He works at the Montebello Design centre off Newlands Ave in Newlands, under the shade of tall trees he carves his living from stumps and barks that he has much respect for! I think it’s great ELLE Décor. has acknowledged him and it made me smile when I saw him featured!
