Beautiful Burlesque

On Saturday night i was treated to a dinner at the notorious Vaudeville in Cape town.
I found this home in Marie Claire's Maison Italia, Cassa della Madame Sera, which seems also inspired by this theatrical exuberance that Vaudeville epitomized! No only do i love anything that glitters, sparkles and makes me feel like i'm somewhere exotic, but in this apartment its the abundance with which Madame Sera has decorated that is so inspiring.

The white washed floors and the cane furniture give a Cuban feel to the interiors of this space. Madame Sera, known for her courageous style is familiar with the decor of stars such as Kate Moss, Courtney Love and Lara Stone.

"Madame Sera assisted various art directors on projects such as costume design for numerous art films and ballet companies and set designs for London opera companies, one of which was La Boheme staged at Sadlers Wells. Her designs always had more than a hint of femininity and romanticism to them and soon her reputation grew as the 'girl' to go to if you wanted the seductive and exotic look. Inevitably Madame Sera began to receive commissions for interior decorating jobs.
Soon Madame Sera's soft focus style, sex kittenish' bijoux apartments were popping up all  over London. "

Feathers, tassles and just oppulance- so wonderful!

The iron stair case and palms sort of have a Moorish theme in this space...

Love the fabrics, the detail, lace and colours!
